I’d like to introduce you to The House Designers, an online house plan retailer. They have a fundraiser that will support shelters across America by offering families who donate and rescue animals the opportunity to win a custom doghouse.
This dog house will be designed and built by one of their architects—giving your dog the chance to have a truly special second home when they are playing outside!
The House Designers were inspired by a story they read about Frank Lloyd Wright. In 1956 Jimmy, the son of one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s clients, wrote to the famous architect asking for a set of blueprints so he could build a doghouse for his new pup Eddie.
Wright was also well known for his cantankerous personality, but after a second reminder he gave Jimmy the plans, free of charge, so Eddie could have shelter when he played outside.
As dog lovers, this story moved The House Designers, so they began this campaign hoping to improve the lives of dogs still waiting to find loving homes.
To enter the contest is easy, make a donation of at least $50 to the Humane Society or Shelter where you rescued your forever friend. Then write a very short note about your rescue pup, and take a picture of him/her. Include the note, the photo, and donation verification in an email to Paul@thehousedesigners.com by March 25, 2016, and the lucky winner of the doghouse will be announced on April 2, 2016. We hope that you’ll support this fundraiser and good luck in the contest!
